Caribou Plains in the Fall | Fundy National Park New Brunswick

Fundy National Park - A Pinay's Diary

More sights and views from the Fundy National Park. This park is truly vast and beautiful. I've been here many times and yet there's still spots I haven't seen. And the place transforms into a different kind of beauty in the Autumn as well. It would almost feel like a completely different place.  Here is a hiking trail that I visited for the first time.

There was a settlement here until 1907.  And caribous used to dwell here.  Not anymore...

Caribou Plain Boardwalk is one of the easiest trails in the Fundy National Park. Boardwalks go around the bog, the swampy part of the trail where you would most likely see moose or deer. That is the kind of environment they like to live in. It took Hubby and another friend three minutes to run this entire boardwalk.

We deviated from the boardwalk and took a hiking path about 3.5 km long - the Caribou Plain (no more boardwalk ;) What trinkets we found... nice views, mushrooms, clover leaves... We took pictures of almost anything! Even pictures of friends taking pictures of something else :)

In the olden times, this used to be a pathway for horse drawn carriages.

Much of the fun in hiking is the company and association. The time spent with friends that allows you to catch up with one another's life, get to know new friends, even tease them or listen to their jokes. Sometimes there are heart to heart conversations, sometimes trivial things...  or just about anything... Specially when they're friends you don't get to see often because of distance. Moments like this becomes truly memorable.

Living close to this places doesn't mean we get to see these things all the time.  Unless we choose to live remotely, in a far country home, our daily life is still spent in the city.  Thankfully, Moncton isn't a notorious concrete jungle, yet. Being busy with mundane, normal things of life, we need to take effort to go out and enjoy nature.   So spending time with the people you love and enjoying nature together is quite an adventure. I really appreciated the wave of friends that visited us this summer. Of course we need to take them around and show them our home. That "forced" us to go and visit these lovely places and what a delight it proved to be. One time I wished "Oh... why can't our friends come and visit all at once!" But in glad that they didn't! I got to see the park in it's summer lush and now at it's autumn brilliance!
